StudioLive 16R: 18-input, 16-channel Series III stage box and rack mixer

Delivery January 2017

The StudioLive 16R Series III rack mixer is a perfect partner for your StudioLive Series III console/recorder, serving as either a simple stage box or a combination stage box and monitor mixer. Since Series III rack mixers and consoles can network using AVB, you can connect your StudioLive 16R to a Series III front-of-house console with one lightweight CAT5e or CAT6 Ethernet cable, eliminating the need for a heavy, expensive copper snake—and the signal degradation that goes with long analog cable runs. You can even remote control the StudioLive 16R’s preamps and phantom power from your networked Series III console. In stage box + monitor mixer mode, the StudioLive 16R not only serves as an excellent networked stage box, it is a full blown monitor mixer with far more processing and mixing power than any mixer in its class—all packed into just one rackspace. (1U).

Superior sound.

Connect a StudioLive Series III rack mixer, and you’ll instantly hear details and an open high end you’d expect to find only in an expensive studio console. We built our reputation designing great-sounding analog circuits, including our famous XMAX solid-state, Class A preamps, and we put all of that experience into designing StudioLive Series III consoles and rack mixers. We didn’t cut corners on components, and we just say “No!” to noisy, crosstalk-y ribbon cables. As a result, StudioLive Series III mixers deliver the high-end audio quality you need to preserve your hard-earned reputation for producing great-sounding mixes and recordings.

The most powerful rack mixer in its class.

When we say the StudioLive® Series III stage boxes and rack mixers are by far the most powerful rackmount digital mixers in their class, that’s no idle claim. The result of ten years of R&D, third-generation StudioLive Series III rack mixers are fully recallable, including remote-controlled XMAX preamps. Yet despite their extensive features, StudioLive Series III rack mixers actually improve upon PreSonus®’ legendary ease of use while letting you customize their workflow and operations in software to fit the way you work. The coveted StudioLive sound is better than ever, including third-generation Fat Channel processing, re-engineered from the ground up, and vintage-style EQs and compressors. Add built-in AVB networking, multitrack recording via USB 2.0 and AVB, onboard stereo recording to SD Card, and a complete suite of software, and you have a mixing and recording powerhouse that’s equally formidable as a stage box/monitor mixer, as a rackmount front-of-house mixer controlled from a touchscreen computer or tablet, and as the heart of your studio.

A third-generation Fat Channel.

StudioLive Series III rack mixers boast the same third-generation Fat Channel processing found in StudioLive Series III consoles. Delivering digital precision with the heart and soul of analog, the Series III Fat Channel implements a plug-in-style workflow that features vintage-style EQ and compression options on every channel, from classic tube limiters to passive EQs. In addition to channel processing, all StudioLive Series III mixers offer 6-band, fully parametric EQ on all mix outputs. Enjoy extensive, studio-style processing when recording, mixing monitors, or even running the front-of-house system.

Customize scenes and presets in new and powerful ways—including your way.

With StudioLive Series III, we’ve upped the ante and given you more flexibility when working with scenes and presets. Mixer scenes now include Scene Safe. Similarly, we’ve expanded the concept of Fat Channel presets so that presets have, for practical purposes, become like scenes for individual channels, not only saving input and Fat Channel settings but also aux send and bus assignments. Of course you can also use preset filters to choose what you want to recall.

Create buses and groups to suit your workflow with FlexMixes.

Don’t you hate it when you’re setting up for a show and find you have an unused subgroup—but you’re short one monitor mix? That’s not a problem anymore, thanks to six FlexMixes that can be individually designated as aux, subgroup, or matrix mixes. These 6 FlexMixes are in addition to the 2 internal effects sends and the stereo main bus, giving you a total of 10 mix buses, not counting the solo buses. We also provided eight Filter DCAs so you can more easily and flexibly control groups of channels. These are only a few of the many ways you can customize your StudioLive Series III rack mixer exactly to your needs and workflow.

Integrated software package with professional DAW, remote-control apps, and one-touch recording.

PreSonus StudioLive Series III mixers are tightly integrated with an entire suite of state-of-the-art software. Mix wirelessly or over a wired network from anywhere using UC Surface touch-control software for Mac, Windows, Android, and iPad®. Remote control the mixer’s recallable XMAX preamps and Fat Channel processing with Studio One Artist for low-latency recording with effects. (Reverb-drowned singers: rejoice!) Completely automate virtual soundchecks and record shows with Capture. Save mixer scenes with your live recordings in Capture and edit both in Studio One Artist. StudioLive Series III mixers and software work together to form a cohesive ecosystem that helps you achieve your creative vision.

Network-ready, with a choice of recording methods.

Networking isn’t the future of professional audio systems; it’s here now. StudioLive 16R Series III rack mixers come equipped with an AVB Ethernet connection that enables you to network multiple StudioLive Series III mixers and compatible computers and stream up to 32 channels of audio to and from a Mac or Windows PC. You also get 18x18 recording via USB 2.0, giving you a choice of computer recording methods. Each channel can independently access its analog input or its dedicated digital return from your computer. Alternatively, quickly and easily record the main mix—or any other stereo mix—to the built-in SD Card recorder. Upload a show for fans, give the band a reference recording, and more, no computer required. You can even simultaneously multitrack record to your laptop via USB or AVB and record in stereo to SD.

Remote mix control available on a plethora of both wired and wireless devices.

In addition to the AVB recording connection, StudioLive Series III rack mixers sport a 1 Gb Ethernet port that can connect to a wireless router or directly to a computer, providing remote control of virtually all features. Mix wirelessly or over a wired network from anywhere using UC Surface for Mac®, Windows®, iPad®, and Android ™ tablet. Even add a second—or third, or even fourth!—screen for fast workflow. Musicians can control their monitor mixes onstage with QMix®-UC for iPhone®, iPod® touch, or Android device without the need for large monitor networks. Go wireless, wired, or both.

Simple but versatile audio connections.

We kept the StudioLive Series III rack mixers’ front and rear panels clean and simple, yet they have all the connections you need. All 16 channel inputs on the StudioLive 16R use locking combo jacks to accept microphone- or line-level signals. You also get a pair of unbalanced RCA jacks as additional inputs for Channels 15 and 16 for easy connectivity to smartphones, media players, and other consumer audio sources. In addition to main L/R outputs and headphone jack, you get six FlexMix outputs that can each be independently configured as subgroups, monitor outputs, or matrix outputs. The result is a versatile set of connections that provide the access you need in a compact, 1U package.

PRE-SW5E
SW5E AVB Switch with PoE
new.png

The AVB Network Connection

PreSonus’ SW5E AVB switch supplies five AVB ports with secure. locking XLR Ethernet jacks. This, along with its robust construction, makes the SW5E an especially good choice for live sound systems. Network Link/Activity indicators help you ensure that network data is flowing properly.

What is an AVB network?

Audio networking is much more than just a way to connect a digital snake. With an AVB network, you can connect digital audio devices over long distances using CAT5e or CAT6 Ethernet cable and route your audio anywhere on the network with extremely low latency. AVB offers several unique benefits that make it a better choice for audio than other networking protocols. For example, AVB provides a high-precision clock that significantly reduces harmonic distortion and phasing, ensuring your audio stays clear and clean. AVB ensures you always have enough bandwidth to carry your low latency audio—even when your intern starts streaming a movie. These important benefits are an inherent part of AVB; you don’t need to do anything special to your devices or AVB switch. And you can only get them with AVB.

PoE: Remote power for networked devices.

Power over Ethernet (PoE) is a technology that enables network cables to carry electrical power to compatible devices. With PoE, a single cable delivers both network data, such as digital audio, and electrical power. You can locate a PoE-enabled device anywhere you can run an Ethernet cable because you don’t need a local power source. Four of the SW5E’s five ports can provide PoE, a rare feature in the current generation of AVB switches. The SW5E’s fifth port is non-PoE, which is useful for linking to additional switches to create a larger network.

Tough enough for live sound.

Live sound gigs are hard on gear, and if your network fails, the show could be over. That’s why the SW5E is built to stand up to the rigors of live sound and perform reliably every time. In addition to using rugged, locking XLR Ethernet connectors, the SW5E is housed in a heavy-duty, all-metal chassis and can be rack mounted using a rack tray (not included). The unit also employs an internal power supply with standard IEC connector—not a clumsy “wall wart” supply that could easily get bumped loose.

A great networking solution for StudioLive digital mixers.

When used with StudioLive digital mixers, an SW5E AVB switch makes many wonderful things possible. Use an SW5E to network StudioLive Series III consoles or to connect a StudioLive AI-series console and StudioLive RML-series rack mixer (as a stage box). Put an SW5E at the center of your network to connect a StudioLive RML-series rack mixer with a StudioLive CS18AI control surface. You can even cascade two StudioLive RML-series mixers to create a larger system by AVB networking them with an SW5E.

You also can use the SW5E to connect non-PreSonus AVB-enabled equipment. As long as the product is compatible with the AVB specification, it is compatible with the SW5E.

Pro-Quality Analog Mixing and Digital Recording in One Device

Built by musicians, for musicians.

StudioLive® AR22 USB 22-channel hybrid mixers make it simple to mix and record live shows, studio productions, band rehearsals, podcasts, and much more. This is a musician’s mixer: lightweight, versatile, feature-rich, and packed with analog connections and digital tools, yet easy to learn and use. Mix with 16 of PreSonus®’ famous Class A preamps and three-band EQ. Create multitrack recordings and fly in backing tracks with a 24-bit, 96 kHz, USB 2.0 digital audio interface. Record and playback in stereo with the integrated SD digital recorder. Stream program music wirelessly, using onboard Bluetooth™. Compact and road-ready, StudioLive AR mixers provide a superior all-in-one solution for mixing and recording your performances.

All of the connections and controls you need.

StudioLive AR22 USB mixers are packed with the connections and controls needed to mix and record live, in the studio, and in rehearsal. Each of the 12 mono channels and four stereo channels includes a 60 mm fader for level control; a mic input with one of PreSonus’ prized Class A preamps; 3-band EQ; and more. Besides the main outputs, you get two monitor mix outputs, each with a dedicated bus, for feeding stage wedges, a headphone amp, or an in-ear system. You also get control-room outputs with level control to feed your studio or front-of-house monitors.

Plug guitars and basses directly into the mixer.

Most mixers make you route acoustic and electric guitars and basses through external direct boxes before connecting to a mixer input. But with StudioLive AR mixers, Channels 1 and 2 have high-impedance instrument inputs, so you can plug a guitar or electric bass straight into the board—no direct box needed.

It’s inputs; it’s playback; it’s the Super Channel!

Our unique Super Channel (stereo Channel 21/22) allows you to connect four stereo analog and digital sources at once, enabling you to use the mixer with your high-tech devices. Plug a media player into the Super Channel’s unbalanced RCA and 1/8-inch stereo inputs, play stereo audio from the onboard SD recorder or from your USB-connected Mac® or Windows® PC. Use onboard Bluetooth 4.1 to pair your phone to your StudioLive AR mixer and instantly have wireless access to your music library for break music, backing tracks, or ear-training. Have a song you want the rest of the band to learn? Pair your phone and start rehearsing!

Record in the studio or at the gig—with or without a computer.

Naturally, you want to record your gigs, as well as producing studio projects, podcasts, and so on. It’s smart to record your rehearsals, too. So StudioLive AR mixers offer two different ways to record. Connect a StudioLive AR22 USB mixer to your computer via USB 2.0, and you have a 22x4 multitrack digital recorder, ready to capture all input channels plus the main mix to a Mac or Windows PC with professional, 24-bit/96 kHz quality. An onboard stereo SD recorder lets you record the main mix without a computer—just hit Record and go. Recording can’t get much easier than this

Fly in backing tracks and play break music, too!

Both the integrated USB recording interface and the SD recorder have multiple uses beyond simply recording. With just a few backing tracks, your small band can sound like a much larger act. Using the two stereo USB playback streams, you can add backing tracks, click tracks, or program music to your mix. Use the SD recorder to play up to 32 GB of MP3 and .WAV files for hours of program music or backing tracks without needing a computer. And don’t forget the Bluetooth feature in the Super Channel, which lets you play break music straight from your smartphone. With several ways to get the job done, you can work the way you want to.

The StudioLive® 16.0.2 USB’s familiar, easy-to-use interface keeps all critical controls visible and accessible —not buried in menus or layers. Our design philosophy is simple: One fader for every mono or stereo channel; one output for every bus. Add to that easily accessed, color-coded function buttons; rotary trim controls; and clearly labeled, individual knobs for EQ and dynamics processing. Aux sends have their own physical controls. Every channel has a big, bright meter display. But don’t let the analog feel fool you: The StudioLive 16.0.2 USB offers the power of modern digital mixing, multitrack recording, wireless remote control, and more.

Small size. Bigger possibilities.

In a footprint of less than 2 square feet (0.19 square meters), the compact, 16-channel StudioLive 16.0.2 USB offers 8 mono input channels, 4 stereo channels, and 4 aux buses, each with a high-quality, 60 mm fader. You get generous analog I/O, 12 XMAX Class A solid-state mic preamps, a Talkback input with Class A mic preamp, extensive signal processing with physical controls, MIDI control, accurate metering, and a built-in multichannel recording interface. As with all StudioLive mixers, the 16.0.2 USB comes with a suite of tightly integrated recording, control, and audio analysis software. And it’s so lightweight and compact that you can easily hold it in one hand and tuck it under your arm.

You’ll never run out of signal processors.

StudioLive 16.0.2 USB mixers provide plenty of DSP power, with no limitations, no shared resources, no figuring out what processing is available where. You have all of the processing available at all times, with no compromises or caveats. The unique Fat Channel provides a compressor, limiter, expander, and 3-band semi-parametric EQ on every channel and bus; a highpass filter on each channel; phase reverse for the channel mic preamps; a library of professionally crafted presets; and the ability to save and selectively recall processor settings. A stereo, 31-band graphic EQ sits on the main bus. To top it off, you get two 32-bit delay/reverb effects processors, each with its own dedicated mix bus and a library of useful effects presets.

Superior sound.

Connect a StudioLive 16.0.2 USB mixer and you’ll instantly hear details and clarity you’d expect to find only in a much more expensive console. StudioLive mixers operate at up to 48 kHz for high-definition mixing and recording. High-quality Burr-Brown converters on every input and output provide a best-in-class 118 dB of dynamic range so you’ll catch every high and low with great accuracy and no audible distortion. And our XMAX microphone preamps deliver incredibly high headroom, deep lows, smooth highs, and a rich overall sound.

Recording is in StudioLive 16.0.2 USB’s DNA.

The StudioLive 16.0.2 USB’s built-in 18x16 multitrack recording interface is tightly integrated with the rest of the mixer—not an afterthought we tacked on. All 16 channels and the main mix continuously stream to your USB-connected Mac or Windows PC. Each channel can independently access its analog input or its dedicated digital return from your computer. And with StudioLive mixers, recording is simple and easy: Just launch the included, preconfigured Capture™ software for one-click recording of all channel inputs and your main mix. Or record with the included Studio One Artist DAW—or any recording software that supports ASIO or Core Audio. Now you can record in the studio or at the gig with equal ease.

Integrated, multiplatform software for flexible control and one-click recording.

Like all PreSonus StudioLive mixers, the StudioLive 16.0.2 USB is tightly integrated with an entire suite of state-of-the-art software. Mix wirelessly or over a wired network from anywhere using UC Surface touch-control software for Mac, Windows, Android™, and iPad®. Control individual monitor mixes onstage with QMix®-UC for iPhone®/iPod® touch and Android™. Automate virtual soundchecks and record shows with Capture™ for Mac and Windows. Edit, sweeten, and digitally release your recordings with Studio One Artist. StudioLive 16.0.2 USB mixers and software work together to form a cohesive ecosystem that helps you achieve your creative vision.

Dedicated analog connections for predictable signal flow.

Take a look at back panel of a StudioLive 16.0.2 USB mixer, and you’ll find the robust connections you’d expect from an analog mixer: balanced mic inputs on each of the 8 mono channels; 8 balanced ¼-inch line inputs; 4 unbalanced RCA line inputs; and dedicated balanced outputs for each of the 4 aux buses and the main stereo bus. Every input channel and bus send has its own dedicated jack—no sharing, no compromises—so you always know what’s flowing from each output.

Add excitement to performances with MIDI control.

Being able to control the StudioLive 16.0.2 USB from an iPad®, iPhone®, iPod touch®, or Android device is cool—unless your hands are busy playing your instrument. That’s why the StudioLive 16.0.2 USB offers MIDI In and Out. Use a MIDI footpedal or DAW to recall scenes using MIDI Program Changes, control the main output volume and effects level, mute effects between songs, switch from lots of reverb to a little bit of delay, and change the mix for a solo. You can even automate these features with a DAW! It’s a great way to make your performances more exciting and varied, even if you don’t have a separate soundperson.

The most powerful mixer in its class.

The StudioLive® 16 digital console/recorder is by far the most powerful mixer in its class. This third-generation StudioLive mixer is fully recallable, with 17 touch-sensitive, motorized faders and 17 recallable XMAX preamps. Yet despite its extensive features, the StudioLive 16 actually improves upon PreSonus®' legendary ease of use while letting you customize its workflow and operations. The StudioLive sound is better than ever, including all-new Fat Channel processing, re-engineered from the ground up, and vintage-style EQs and compressors. Add built-in AVB networking, onboard multitrack Capture™ recording to SD Card, and a complete suite of software, and you have a mixing and recording powerhouse that's equally formidable in live and studio applications.

Superior sound.

Connect a StudioLive 16 mixer, and you’ll instantly hear details and an open high end you’d expect to find only in an expensive studio console. We built our reputation designing great-sounding analog circuits, including our famous XMAX solid-state, Class A preamps, and we put all of that experience into designing the StudioLive 16. We didn’t cut corners on components, and we just say “No!” to noisy, crosstalk-y ribbon cables. As a result, the StudioLive 16 delivers the high-end audio quality you need to preserve your hard-earned reputation for producing great-sounding mixes and recordings.

Integrated multitrack recording and virtual soundcheck — no computer required.

PreSonus Capture™ recording software is an intuitive, rock-solid multitrack recording application with virtual soundcheck. It’s installed directly into the StudioLive 16 so you can leave your laptop at home. Capture’s one-touch recording makes it easy to record to the StudioLive 16’s onboard SD multitrack recorder. When you're finished recording, open your Capture session in Studio One® for Mac® and Windows® (included), and the entire mix scene will transfer to your Studio One session, including fader levels, Fat Channel settings, and, yes, any drum solos that you may have had to endure that night.

A re-envisioned Fat Channel.

The StudioLive 16’s Fat Channel has received a major overhaul while continuing to offer digital precision with the heart and soul of analog. Our new Fat Channel implements a plug-in-style workflow that features vintage-style EQ and compression options on every channel, from classic tube limiters to passive EQs. And in addition to channel processing, the StudioLive 16 offers 6-band, fully parametric EQ on all mix outputs. Enjoy extensive, studio-style processing when recording on location or running shows on the road!

Define your own layouts, views, and workflows.

StudioLive 16 goes above and beyond in providing ways to customize things to best fit the way you work. Now you can customize your Fat Channel layout, putting the parameters you care about most right at your fingertips. There are even several workflow options to personalize your mixing experience. For instance, you can control the mixer with a multiple iPads and—optionally—a computer, each running UC Surface with a different view, enabling you to see and touch all of the controls you need at a given time.

Customize scenes and presets in new and powerful ways—including your way.

With StudioLive 16, we’ve upped the ante and given you more flexibility when working with scenes and presets.

Create buses and groups to suit your workflow with new FlexMixes.

Don’t you hate it when you’re setting up for a show and find you have an unused subgroup—but you’re short one monitor mix? That’s not a problem anymore, thanks to 16 FlexMixes that can be individually designated as aux, subgroup, or matrix mixes. You get a total of 10 FlexMixes on analog outputs, six on XLR connectors, and four on ¼-inch TRS; the other six are routed over USB or AVB. These 16 FlexMixes are in addition to the 4 fixed subgroups that also are available via USB or AVB, giving you a total of 20 mix buses, not counting the main mix, solo, and FX buses. We also provided 24 DCAs so you can more easily and flexibly control groups of channels. These are only a few of the many ways you can customize your StudioLive 16 mixer exactly to your needs and workflow.

PRE-FADERPORT 16
FaderPort 16

An amazingly fast, efficient studio workflow awaits you!

Delivery January 2018

With the compact, easy-to-use FaderPort 16, you’ll enjoy the fastest, most efficient workflow and the most session control you’ve ever experienced. But don’t just take our word for it; visit your favorite PreSonus dealer and try the FaderPort 16 for yourself!

Advanced, Innovative DAW Control

Although a keyboard and mouse are tried-and-true DAW-control devices, they’re far more effective when used in tandem with the FaderPort™ 16’s precise tactile control over mix and automation functions. A superior solution for anyone who mixes in the box, only the FaderPort 16 provides 16 100 mm touch-sensitive, motorized faders and 89 buttons covering 104 different functions, all in a compact chassis that easily sits on any desk. Quickly zoom in on audio files for editing, modify plug-in parameters, manage aux mixes—and, of course, control track levels with the touch of a finger. With the FaderPort 16, you’ll enjoy the fastest, most efficient workflow you’ve ever experienced.

Work faster and smarter.

Rather than forcing you to revise your mixing method, the FaderPort 16 augments the way you currently mix. You still use your faithful keyboard and mouse for things they do well, and the FaderPort 16 handles what you really want to get your fingers on: your mix. Having the ability to control the levels of 16 channels at once makes creating the perfect mix easier than ever before. And the FaderPort 16 allows you to view just the information you need to access. Sixteen digital scribble strips provide visual feedback. Quickly navigate between tracks and buses. Need to automate your virtual instruments? The FaderPort 16 lets you view just those tracks, making switching automation tasks a breeze. This is DAW control the way you always hoped it could be!

One-button access to key functions.

The FaderPort 16's unique Session Navigator provides easy access to eight mission-critical functions for maximum flexibility. Use the large encoder button and companion buttons to edit and mix with greater efficiency and speed. Scroll through your timeline, using the encoder, or work measure by measure with the arrow buttons; zoom in and out on the timeline with the encoder and make your tracks larger or smaller with the arrow buttons; navigate and drop markers; and maintain constant control of your main level. Once you start using the Session Navigator, you’ll wonder how you mixed without it.

Universal compatibility and tight Studio One® integration.

FaderPort 16’s streamlined workflow and support for the Mackie Control and HUI protocols make it fast and easy to control virtually any DAW. No driver installation is necessary; just plug the control surface into a USB port and take command of your mix and plug-ins.

But the FaderPort 16 is downright magical when used with PreSonus Studio One. (Studio One Artist is included.) You’ll be amazed how much faster you can work.

NORTHSTAR Modern Country Rock
new.png
  • Powerful overdrive with tone-shaping
  • True-Bypass switching retains your tone
  • Class-A Power Booster provides +24dB of clean gain
  • Built-in effects loop activates with booster

Designed for today’s new breed of rock-oriented country players, the North-Star is both an overdrive and a high-output power booster combined in one versatile and compact pedal.

The overdrive circuit in the North-Star is capable of providing an array of tones, varying from subtle chunk to singing distortion. The Drive and Level controls provide adjustments over the amount of distortion and the output to your amp, so you can balance how much drive you get from the pedal vs. breakup from your amp. Combined with a variable Class-A Booster capable of +24dB of clean gain, you can use the North-Star to dial in the perfect not-too-dirty, not-too-clean semi-broken up tone, or push your sound to the extreme. Used on its own, the Booster section can provide easy transitions from rhythm to lead, as the separate Boost footswitch automatically engages the built-in effects loop, bringing your favourite analog delay pedal into the signal chain.

The North-Star is built in a compact enclosure to save space on a busy pedalboard, and is powered via a standard 9V power supply or a multi-pedal power brick. 14-gauge steel construction and high-quality components ensure it will hold up against the rigors of the road, and true-bypass switching retains the pure tone of your instrument when not in use.

Hot British V9 Metal Maximum Gain
new.png
  • High gain Plexi-style distortion
  • Powerful tone-shaping EQ controls
  • Compact size saves pedalboard space
  • Standard 9V power supply operation

The Hot-British V9™ is an updated solid-state version of the venerable Tonebone Hot British™ tube distortion pedal. Packed into a pedalboard-friendly compact chassis, the Hot-British V9 retains the same soul and character of the original, with the ability to be powered by standard 9V pedalboard power supplies.

Under the hood, a Class-A buffering circuit gives you the feel of a true-bypass pedal with the added benefits of greater noise rejection and lower impedance, allowing you to drive pedal chains and longer cable runs efficiently. The Hot-British V9 also features multiple tone shaping stages to provide you with total control over your sound. The Drive control sets the overall distortion amount and input level, so you can apply a touch of grit and tube-like saturation, or crank it up for screaming lead tones. Next up, the Contour knob augments the character of the distortion, to vary it between warm, fat textures and brighter tones with more 'air'.

The post-distortion EQ controls provide a powerful way to shape your overall sound, allowing you to tailor the Hot-British V9 to best match your guitar and amplifier. Low and High EQ knobs are complemented by 3-position Top End and Mid Boost switches, so dialing in the perfect tone is a snap. Lastly, a Level control sets the output of the Hot-British V9 to your amplifier. The Hot-British V9 is compact and takes up little valuable pedalboard space, yet it is built extremely rugged, with heavy-duty components and a 14-gauge steel enclosure. One listen and you’ll be blown away by how a device this small can produce such huge tone.

RAD-R800 7027 00
Texas Pro Blues Rock Revival
new.png
  • Versatile Overdrive with multiple tonal possibilities
  • High output Class-A power booster
  • Overdrive and Boost operate separately or in combination
  • Built-in effects loop activates with booster

The Texas-Pro is a compact but extremely powerful dual-function pedal, providing a versatile overdrive circuit as well as a high output signal booster. These two features can be used on their own or in combination, giving you a wide range of tonal options, with the power to cut through when soloing or hit the front end of your amp harder for natural sustain and harmonics.

The overdrive section is equipped with a three-position Range switch, which tailors the response to produce vintage, modern, and high-gain overdrive tones. This allows you to choose between bluesy textures similar to an Ibanez TS9®, a modern rock feel like a Fulltone OCD®, or aggressive in-your-face saturation. Individual Drive, Tone, and Level controls allow you to further dial in the settings that best suit your guitar and amp setup. The Overdrive is followed by a 100% discrete, pure Class-A Boost circuit with a variable level control that can provide up to +22dB of clean gain. This can be used to let your solos sing out or to push the front end of a smaller amp harder, causing it to prematurely break up. Both the Overdrive and the Boost utilize true-bypass switching, which ensures that you retain the pure tone of your guitar as if it were plugged directly into your amplifier. For additional functionality, a built-in effects loop provides the ability to connect delays or other pedals, activating them when the Boost footswitch is engaged. This makes transitioning from rhythm to lead quick and efficient, with just a single foot-stomp required.

The Texas-Pro is housed in a compact chassis that is small enough for any pedalboard, while still able to handle the rigors of the road with 14-gauge steel construction and heavy-duty footswitches and connectors. Standard 9V power supplies and multi-pedal power bricks can be used to power the Texas-Pro.

TS9 and OCD are registered trademarks of Ibanez® and Fulltone®. Radial is not associated with these companies and only uses their names to reference the type of sound created.

The EFX-Bumper is a compact solution for guitar players who use multiple effects pedal loops, but have limited pedalboard space. The EFX-Bumper can switch between up to four pedals or groups of pedals, using a single footswitch to cycle between the loops. This allows you to connect a wah pedal to loop-1, distortion to loop-2, modulation to loop-3, and chorus and delay pedals to loop-4; activating a loop is as easy as hitting the Loop Select footswitch until the LED for the desired loop illuminates. Multiple loops can be engaged at the same time, using 3-position assign switches that determine which combination of loops activate together. A second footswitch can be set to engage all loops at once, or bypass them completely. Compact and rugged, the EFX Bumper is built with 14-gauge steel and heavy duty connectors and switches, and is powered via a standard 9V power supply.

Key-Largo
new.png

The Key-Largo is a Tonebone first... It is a combination keyboard mixer, DAC, effects loop and remote control in a compact pedal format.

The design begins with three stereo input channels for your analog synths. Each channel is equipped with a level control and an effects send.
Then, a 4th input for a USB connection to your laptop to play back audio files and mix them with the live keys. A stereo effects loop lets you add a rackmount delay or reverb to

your vintage Mini-Moog or share it with the others and remotely turn on the effects loop using the left onboard footswitch. Stereo direct outputs let you feed your stage monitors while balanced

isolated outputs feed the PA system.

A middle latching footswitch lets you take things one step further with a contact closure that can be used to activate a second effect in the loop.

A third momentary footswitch is assigned for sustain, making it easy to connect to your piano patch. Side access MIDI connectors are available

to pass-through data and add flexibility.

BT-Pro Bluetooth Direct Box
new.png
* Bluetooth reception to 12 meters (40 feet!) "Delivery December 2016"
* Dual balanced XLR outputs to connect to PA system
* Built-in headphone amp for troubleshooting
* Isolation transformers to eliminate buzz and hum

The BT-Pro is a Bluetooth® direct box designed to capture the wireless transmission from a Bluetooth® enabled device and convert the signal to a balanced line for use in a PA or recording system. It employs an innovative T-shaped access cavity behind which is located the antenna. This is protected by a milled insert made from Sintra® – a rugged closed-cell PVC - that permits the wireless transmission signal to pass without interference, allowing reception distances of 12 meters (40') or more with line of sight between devices.

The audio signal path itself employs the latest Bluetooth wireless A2DP interface over 2.0 EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) for higher speed transmission to deliver optimal audio quality . This standard employs a 16-bit wireless compressed format with the actual bit rate determined by the transmission source material. Inside, the BT-Pro converts the data to a stereo analog signal, producing up to +4dB at the output. The signal level is controlled by a front panel potentiometer that is shared with the built-in headphone amp with standard 3.5mm mini TRS that is used for troubleshooting.

For greater flexibility, a stereo-to-mono switch sums the stereo output for dual-mono operation to reduce input channel requirements on the mixer or to share the signal between separate systems. Should noise be encountered, two side-mounted isolation transformers may be inserted into the signal path. This is supplemented by a ground lift switch for the XLRs to further help eliminate hum and buzz caused by ground loops.

Connecting to the BT-Pro is easy. The BT-Pro is powered by an external 5V supply via a mini USB port and may also be powered from a laptop or USB hub. Once turned on, two top-mounted LEDs will toggle as it awaits pairing. Turn on your Bluetooth device and its transceiver sends an initial pairing message to identify the BT-Pro. This will show up as 'RadialEng'. A connection pass code is then used to initialize the connection. This important safety feature ensures other nearby Bluetooth devices cannot 'pollute or hijack' the system. Once paired, the BT-Pro's blue LED will flash every 3 seconds to let you know the two Bluetooth devices are talking to each other.

JDX Direct Drive Amp Simulator and DI Box
new.png
Guitar amp simulator for pedalboards
Eliminates need to bring an amp to the gig
4 x 12, half-stack & open back combo tone

The Radial™ JDX Direct-Drive is a unique and powerful device that simulates the sound of a guitar amplifier while doubling as a direct box. Unlike a typical direct box that merely transfers the sound of the pedals to the PA, the Direct-Drive simulates the tone and feel of a real guitar amp, producing a much more realistic sound. In other words, with the Direct-Drive on your pedalboard, you can do a gig without carrying an amp to the club.
The design begins with a traditional ¼” guitar input and passive thru-put to feed a stage amp. This is then followed by a dedicated tuner output that is buffered in order to eliminate loading on the pickup or noise from the quartz clock. The guitar signal is then passed through a series of carefully sculpted filters to create Radial’s signature JDX tone. This is modelled after the sound of a Shure SM57™ in front of a Marshall™ 4-12 cabinet. The Direct-Drive goes further with two more voicing settings: The first adds a vintage Marshall™ tube head character to the signal path while the second delivers a tone reminiscent of an early Fender Twin™. The two amp tones can be further tailored using a presence switch for extra sparkle. The guitar signal exits the Direct-Drive via either a ¼” guitar-level output or via a balanced XLR to feed the PA. The direct box output is outfitted with a 180° polarity reverse switch to help phase-align monitors with the stage amp along with a ground lift switch to help eliminate hum and buzz caused by ground loops. The Direct-Drive may be powered using a standard 9V power supply or typical pedalboard power brick.
As with all Radial products, the Direct-Drive is made to handle the rigors of professional touring with 14-gauge steel throughout. This not only helps prevent damage to the internal PCB, it also reduces susceptibility to noise from external magnetic fields.
The Radial JDX Direct-Drive… one small step on a pedal board, one huge step for the guitarist!

Note: Note the companies mentioned above are not related to Radial and are only referenced in order to give the reader a sense of the type of tone the Direct-Drive will produce at the various voicing settings.

Switchbone V2
new.png

Radial Switchbone V2: with powerful mid-boost section

The Switchbone V2 has tons of new options, though its also kept all of the best functionality from its predecessor. Of course, it has all of the things you already know and love, such as the three foot switches on the top, which allow you to switch between the Out-A and Out-B signal, combine A, B and C outputs, and boost the volume. You can also use the panel to configure the Slingshot function, boost your signal with mid-control, and configure the Baseline pro-boost. Thanks to the addition of Slingshot functionality, you can now switch channels and activate effects via an external foot switch.

The Radial Switchbone already enjoys great popularity with many talented musicians such as Eric Clapton, Derek Trucks and Alan Holdsworth. There's no doubt that such popularity will only expand with the release of the new Switchbone V2 switch pedal. The pedal allows you to switch between three amplifiers without any unwanted noise or distortion, and while the previous Switchbone also offered that, now you can get it with an extensive mid-boost function.

4 Play
new.png

The 4-Play begins with a standard ¼" input for acoustic guitar, mandolin, fiddle or bass. In fact, it works great on just about any instrument. A mute footswitch lets you silence the switcher when connecting or disconnecting the instrument. The signal is then routed to a selector footswitch that sequentially activates up to four outputs allowing each instrument to have its own dedicated channel on the PA. You simply mute the 4-Play, connect the desired instrument and then use the footswitch to select the output. High visibility LED indicators provide clear visual feedback to let you know which output is active.

Radial Tech Team associate Mike Bauer explains: "When you are on a busy stage, switching instruments can pose several challenges. When sharing the same direct box, switching between an acoustic guitar and mandolin requires both the FOH engineer and monitor engineer to mute the active mixer channel in order to avoid damaging plug-in transients and painful pops for the audience. You then need to alter the EQ and adjust the level to adapt it for each instrument. Alternatively, when using separate DI boxes, you end up with a bunch of wires connected to each instrument which often get tangled. Ask any stage tech and they will tell you that the preferred approach is to use a single cable and manually switch between instruments. Then, because the artist can mute the instrument on stage, you avoid having to flag down the FOH and monitor engineers between each changeover. Since each instrument is now connected to a dedicated channel, the signal level, EQ and effects can be predetermined and optimized without having to make radical changes every time an instrument is changed.  With so many auxiliary musicians onstage these days, there has never been a more appropriate time for this type of solution."

The 4-Play features four balanced XLR outputs, each of which is equipped with a ground lift switch to help eliminate hum and buzz caused by ground loops. All of the connectors are made from glass-filled nylon for exceptional durability and isolation and feature nickel-silver contacts that will not tarnish over time. Two 'set & forget' switches allow the user to increase the range of the selector footswitch to 2, 3 or 4 outputs. There is also a dedicated tuner out that can be assigned to be always on, or function in tandem with the mute switch for quick on-the-fly adjustments.

Built Radial tough, the 4-Play is made from heavy 14-gauge steel for added rigidity and greater rejection of stray magnetic fields. It employs a standard Boss-style 9V power supply (not included) and is equipped with a cable lock to prevent accidental disconnection.

ADA-S2V
ADAM S2V - Nearfield monitor, 2-way, 7" woofer
new.png

The S2V is a classic two-way nearfield monitor designed for use in small-to-medium-sized control rooms.

The 7-inch bass driver, newly created from the ground up for the S Series, covers frequencies ranging from 35 Hz to 3 kHz and delivers a powerful, distortion-free low-end with a wide dynamic range. The carefully refined S-ART tweeter, handbuilt as ever at the ADAM Audio factory in Berlin, works seamlessly in tandem with the newly developed HPS waveguide, creating absolutely precise imaging within a generously proportioned sweet spot.

The S2V’s compact dimensions belie its impressive power. A 300 W Class D amplifier drives the woofer while a 50 W Class A/B unit handles the S-ART tweeter; the combined output produces SPLs of up to 120dB per pair.

The S Series’ custom-designed DSP optimizes the loudspeaker crossovers to create linear responses for the entire range, as well as providing user equalization and in-room tuning/voicing functions. The DSP also handles the limiter-based high-frequency driver protection, processes the signals from the AES3 digital inputs, and will in time facilitate various expansion options. Software updates can be carried out with ease via the associated USB port, which also allows users to connect computers and control the speakers’ DSP functions via a software front-end.

With its highly accurate frequency response and balanced, razor-sharp imaging, the S2V allows users to pinpoint even the most subtle audio details, making it an ideal choice for use in demanding studio environments.

The S3H builds on the successes of ADAM Audio’s most popular studio monitors, the S3A and S3X-H, and, like its predecessors, sets new standards in terms of technical innovation and design.

The Editors at specialist German recording and production magazine “Professional audio” took on the three-way ADAM S3H monitor and rated its many qualities thus: ‘Outstanding: top of its class’. As they put it in their review:

“ADAM Audio’s S3H is a first-class, extremely well-designed, flexible and versatile studio monitor. Particularly impressive are its sonic accuracy and impulse response, which trump those of its predecessor [N.B. this refers to one of ADAM’s previous loudspeakers, the S3X-H]. Quite simply, the S3H relieves the earlier speaker of its title as the dependable reference monitor to choose.”

The dual 7-inch bass drivers, each powered by separate 500 W Class D amplifiers, offer flawless reproduction of frequencies all the way down to 32 Hz. ADAM Audio’s newly developed DCH, a 4-inch hybrid dome/cone mid-range driver, is powered by a 300 W Class D amplifier and handles audio above 250 Hz and below 3 kHz, its leading-edge hybrid design offering the sonic advantages of both cone and soft-dome drivers in a single, one-piece unit. Frequencies above 3 kHz are routed to the innovative combination of the S-ART treble driver (each handmade at ADAM Audio’s Berlin factory), the new precision HPS waveguide, and a 50 W Class A/B amplifier. The result of all this innovation is a beautifully transparent three-dimensional soundscape, with an extensive sweet spot.

The S Series’ custom-designed DSP optimizes the loudspeaker crossovers to create linear responses for the entire range, as well as providing user equalization and in-room tuning/voicing functions. A unique feature of the S3H’s DSP options is a built-in factory EQ preset that emulates the response of ADAM Audio’s legendary S3A monitor.

With its massively powerful amplification and three-way design (optimally configured for use horizontally), the S3H was conceived as a midfield monitor, but can be employed equally well in more compact listening environments. As with all ADAM Audio designs, the sound is punchy but musical, with crystal-clear reproduction of the all-important mid-range.

The S3H’s wide-ranging frequency response, its power amps’ instantly available, plentiful headroom, and the lack of need for additional subwoofers should appeal to any audio professional looking for a stand-alone, full-frequency active solution for their recording studio, one which provides equally detailed audio information at any volume setting, loud or quiet. Whatever your preferred output level, the S3H’s vibrant authenticity is a spur to creativity for producers, engineers and musicians everywhere, and its sound remains remarkably unfatiguing, even when working uninterrupted for extended periods.

Designed for medium-sized and larger studio control rooms, the S5V main monitor offers all the raw power studio professionals would expect from a reference speaker of its class, but also reproduces full-bandwidth, high-resolution audio with complete accuracy and clarity.

ADAM Audio’s Extended Linear Excursion (ELE) bass drivers and Symmetrical Magnet Assembly (SMA) technology were developed especially for the S Series, and the 12-inch bass driver on the S5V benefits from both concepts, offering a quality of reproduction without equal in terms of accuracy, dynamic range and freedom from coloration. The 4-inch DCH MF driver, with its unique hybrid dome/cone construction, handles the important mid-range information with extreme precision, while ADAM Audio’s S-ART folded-ribbon tweeter, handmade in Berlin to the tightest possible tolerances, produces breathtaking highs and ensures the soundfield is presented in all of its most delicate, filigree detail.

The off-axis responses of the treble and mid drivers remain extremely accurate thanks to the addition of high- and mid-frequency waveguides milled from solid aluminum: ADAM Audio’s newly developed Mid-range and High-frequency Propagation Systems (MPS and HPS). The resultant stable, wide-ranging dispersion ensures that teams of more than one person can work in the loudspeakers’ sweet spot simultaneously, as is often necessary in larger control rooms.
